I came across this while doing some research.. this guy has got to be the "coolest" Catholic Priests (and he's not a fringe Catholic, quite orthodox actually)..

I agree.. I just saw his rap/gospel video on EWTN and I'll be the first to say I HATE RAP, but I liked this song a lot.. VERY different take on rap.. And I understand he can rif on the bass... He's down right cool with that heavy Brooklyn accent too!

I'll bet if he were more secular, he'd be more accepted.. (I'd rather he stayed like he is though).

I thought Ian Hill was Priest's only bassist.

He's one of the Gray Friars of the Bronx, you seem them bopping around the city. Apparently he does a lot of looping live, building layers with his bass....

He may also be one of the only priest bassists you'll ever see. That's like saying Micheal Dorn is one of the best Klingon Bassists you've ever seen. Well, not really, but sort of in my sleep deprived state.

I think the title of this thread should have been something more like "I dig the way this guy plays bass, and he's a priest too"

he's great - this is a pretty cool video of him doing his thing, some looping, then into a nice version of amazing grace.
