How's the gig's up there? In Dallas/Ft.worth, Tx, it's slim pickens, ( no pun intended). Unless you are in a house band, the only thing left is parties and special events. Hook me up with #2 please.

I've been playing with Janesville for over 2 years now. I was never a country fan before, but I've really begun to appreciate the genre.

After my last pop-rock band folded, I wanted a project with a new kind of music, good musicians, and more/better gigs. I've gotten it all!

Something I posted on the Gig-Check-In Thread:

Here's a couple shots from the three sets we played on a sweltering Stage at the Wisconsin State Fair this Saturday.

Me and our Backup singer (back off perverts, she's 14)

Our guitarist and Singer (she's not 14) having a great time.

All of us accompanying some adorable elderly dancers.

At the risk of tooting my own horn too much, I made a thread about my experience getting into country music. (2 year update on page 3)

Me too.
I've always played at least some country since I started about 20 years ago. My current band is doing a nice mix of southern/classic rock and country.

I'm not a country bass player per se`, but that seems to be all of the calls that I've been getting. I enjoy the music and some of the best musicians I've met have been country guitarists. The bands seem to appreciate the greasy grooviness that I give to the standard I-V and walking lines that are so common in the genre.

At Harrah's Grand Casino in Tunica Ms.

Hey...ya'll take those who play both kinds of music...country and western?

I play other stuff but I always seem to find my way back to what I was raised on.
