I don't think there ever was an official 'The' before 'Cream', but many announcers and DJ's have called them that since the 60's.

It would be more like Sting, Springsteen, and Mellanhead and some other pop fool man.

I know a fair amount about "The" Cream (I've played bass behind Jack on record). The name of the band, according to Jack was that, on the London blues scene, they were "The Cream of the crop" so to speak. Hence "The Cream." I'm willing to bet my brethren in America are the ones that mostly just say "Cream." But if Pete Brown and Jack have said "The Cream" In my hearing range, then so be it! Either way, it's the same ol' geezers!

Hmm, then again, I used to think Geezer Butler of Black Sabbath's first name was really Geezer.

~ Great news!
~ And finally, there's a reason for me to watch the Grammys.
~ Can't wait to see what Ginger says at the podium!
~ Anyway, they sure do deserve it. Excellent move by Clapton to initiate their 2005 reunion, too.
