Well, i'd kind of like to have a cross between Hendrix, The Who, James Gang, Cream, etc.

Dale Peters

Nothing like resurrecting a dead thread......But I was watching this video of The James Gang playing Walk Away, that has great shots of Dale Peter's bass.

The bass looks like a late 60's Telecaster Bass that's been modded with a split P pickup and an extra pick guard cut around the pickup. Great tone and playing.

Was '68-72 Telecaster available as sunburst? Dale's bass seems to have a contoured body too so my guess is it's a '54-'57 P-bass (the 2nd gen Precision) that has been modded with a splitcoil pickup.
