That's the guy that plays with Robert Randolph, right?
If so then yes he played a Yamaha TRB 6 both times I've seen them.

Listening to the new album, I can't believe the tone he's getting. Very impressive.

I just saw RR last night and Danyel was rocking a TRB 5 but on a more interesting note...

He had a Lakland 5-94 Deluxe that he brought out for a few select tunes.

What can I say, I'm a Lakland Fanboy

I saw him play in Norfolk a couple months ago and he pretty much just used a Yamaha 6 (looked like a John Myung sig) and a natural finish Yamaha Nathan East model. But it's cool he's a playing Lakland now too.

I just checked and he's listed on Lakland's artist page now. So maybe they're in regular rotation for his gigs now.

I think that Danyel has a ton of basses. Here's one:

I just learned about this guy yesterday. He kills! I'm really glad to see him mentioned here. I have to admit that I wondered what bass he was using on the Blind Boys of Alabama cd. It sounded great no matter what it was. That dude can play!!!!!!!

Now that I think about it, I remember seeing a Lakland on his rack at the back of the stage. My drummer reminded me (he was with me) by as**** about it.

BTW, 3toes, I think you're the first person from SA I've seen on here since I joined. I go by prsguitaruser there.

he's probably got a bunch of gear... I have seen him with a Modulus 6 and and a pair of Peavey 410's (maybe backlined).

So much for the Peavey gear huh?!?!

I dig his playing.
We just did "I Need More Love" for our college ministry last week.
Man, talk about a workout on that opening line!!!
Check it out if you get a chance.
But I pulled up a YouTube clip of him/them doing the track on Letterman and he played a completely different (simpler) line.
