David Hood

I don't know much about this man. Not much has been said about him on Talkbass, but there is a decent 1990 article on him in Bassplayer's archives.

Has anybody out there got anything to say about him? Any particular David Hood basslines that are recommended listening? The Bassplayer article mentions 'I'll Take You There' by The Staple Sisters are perhaps his definitive work - I'll try to check it out as soon as I can.

If you can find "Born To Get Down" by them, you'd being doing yourself a HUGE service. His playing kills in that song!

I actually saw him play live once, back in 1972 when he and drummer Roger Hawkins toured with Traffic.

There is a video floating around from that tour shot at a show in California; I taped it off VH-1 a few years ago.
