Cool clip. That Moon looks tiny with Pino playing it. Not so crazy about the groove they're listening to at the end though.

Dela has left JM's band. On the last tour Sean Hurley formerly of Vertical Horizon handled the bass duties. I've seen him using both a P and an Epi Jack Casady. Both sounded great and he's a great player. It's too bad, I really enjoyed Dela's playing with JM too.

On the other hand, Pino is the man, and I'm looking forward to hearing what the new album will be like. I enjoyed Continuum much more than anything that John has done on the pop side, and the JM3 cd is brilliant. I give a lot of credit to Steve Jordan. His playing inspires me greatly and he is on my wish list of drummers that I want to play with.

I reckon the line of bass players who would like to play with Mr Jordan is quite extensive, I know I'm in it.

word from inside sources say that mayer fired dela. a buddy i play with here in athens got a chance to go record a demo with clay cook. if you dont know his name, he's the guy who cowrote most of mayers first album. while he was recording the demo, my buddy asked a lot of questions about mayer (hes a big fan). cook says that even though he and mayer go way back they only talk once a year and its strictly gear talk. mayer didnt even acknowledge that clay had just gotten married three weeks before their last conversation at the time of this demo.

anyway, clay still talks to dela to, quite a bit, and what my buddy was told is that dela got fired by mayers manager because dela is the only guy still there from mayers early days and thus the only one who can call him out on his bull****.

if this is true then shame on mayer. like i said i dont know this to be fact but it does seem to come from very credible sources.

I figured he might have been fired because he might have been making a bigger slice of the tour revenue like when they were first touring. Some people[or their managers] get real cheap when they get real rich.
