David Pastorius

Last night my band played a show with Jaco's nephews band called Local 518. His nephews name is David Pastorius, and he could possibly be the best bass player I've heard. He was amazing, tasteful, smooth as hell, he could go off but he knows when to fall back into the groove. His band is tight, they're the real deal. If you have not heard of him check him out, I can guarantee that you will hear more about him. This is his bands myspace page http://www.myspace.com/local518 - and David, if you're on here, great show last night.

I really love what I'm hearing from their myspace, I might be getting their album.

David's playing and tone is amazing, thanks for the heads-up.

Great ****. He's playing a bass that looks very similar to my J bass.

Nice. The Chase is a killer tune. I just hope that people stay away from the obvious comparisons? ...Here is a player steeped in a families legacy, who's found his own voice. Brilliant!

Geddy Lee must be one of his influences.
