Dead Kennedys bass

Just saw the DKs in Boston a few hours ago, still coming down from the show--it rocked SO hard. Klaus Flouride is taking a break and a guy named Greg Reeves is filling in and man, holding the torch high---what looked like an old Bassman head with an SVT 8x10, 70's jazz I think--he and DH were SMOKING and the bass sound was massive!
Might have to drive to NYC to catch it again!

if Klaus is out, it begs the question - who is in the DKs now, anyway? Just Ray and Peligro?

Who replaced Jello? Where in Boston was the show?

Pray, do tell.

yea, the band had a major (court case) falling out in the late 90's. Biafra was kind of a dick and tried to short the rest of the band $ on royalties. The band won. So if klaus is gone, it is just Ray and Peligro O.G., and Greer on vocals, reeves on bass.

Didn't actor Brandon Cruz ("The Courtship of Eddie's Father") sit on the drum throne for the DKs some years ago?

Was at the Paradise Club. Now I wanna get an old Bassman head---the rig was mic'd (and DI too I'm sure). had some pedals--couldn't see. Killer tone.

BTW-Ray said Klaus is coming back--so it's temporary.

I will allways love me some DK, but without Klaus and Biafra it just doesn't feel like the Kennedy's. I would still go see the show, regardless. Glad You enjoyed.......

Ouch! Truth hurts though. Kinda like when I saw van halen with gary cherone as the front man. It was hilarious to hear the crowd taunt him by singing "more than words" every time they stopped playing.

Whatever on the party-poopers. People spend more time hating than not these days 'cause it's so easy. Pffft. I'm sick of all the negative energy. Besides, nobody does their homework before they start flinging mud these days (for example, read this: http://www.hellbound.ca/2010/09/scot...und-interview/ )

I saw a killer show, heard iconic songs (with two certifiable icons), really great playing by all and got my money's worth. The packed house seemed to agree too.

Hey I'm glad you enjoyed the show. I wasnt dissing it or you. I just have a thing about some bands and if I will pay money to see them if members are no longer playing with them etc.

DK to me has to be the lineup I liked and played on the albums I have..but thats me.

Just commenting on the link- admittedly, I skimmed, but didn't see anything relating to the DKs..? On topic, I saw them a half-dozen times in various SF/bay area dives back in the day- life-changing stuff.

Edit: I'm usually pretty picky but I'd go see a band calling themselves the Dead Kennedeys w/half(or so)of the original lineup. if I saw a TBer I'd buy them a brew
