Seeing the post on Derek's Lakland's custom bass inspired me to post.

Derek has done so much for the art of bass playing. I have trouble putting it into words.

Got a link to that post?

I love that American Express is using "GSM" in some of their commercials.

I watched This Is Spinal Tap for like, the 87th time the other day. I finally noticed that on one song, Big Bottom I think it was, that Derek, Nigel and David were all playing bass guitars on that song. I'm sure they were all on 11.

Yeah, the first time I saw that I busted out laughing and no one else in the room could figure out why.

Seriously??

You're a bass player...

you've watched Spinal Tap 87 times...

and you just noticed they were all playing bass on Big Bottom?

Hey, give me a break. I've only been a bass player since December.

No breaks. Once a bass player - always a bass player...

I actually think the basslines on those songs were pretty damn good! Great tone too.

Spinal Tap really made a big contribution to rock music. Nigel Tuffnal's intelect just numbs my mind.

Not only is everyone playing a bass on big bottom but Derek's work on the double neck bass on that tune is landmark...

That really wasn't meant to sound nasty, I was just kidding ya! Sometimes sarcasm gets the best of me.
