I have my ticket. It should be a fun day and evening!

Edit: I'll be on the road. I would have loved to hear Ralphe!

It's all good because I'm not expecting any one to come hear me any way

FYI. I just received notice that the Detroit Bass Fest has been cancelled due to lack of interest/ticket sales.

Doesn't surprise me. There's nobody there worth seeing. Armstrong might be cool in a nostalgic sort of way, though I don't guess he's very relevant now. The rest of the guys on card, meh.

I don't know about that. No matter who is on the bill, for $20, it's a great hang, and Ralphe is a classic who is rarely seen.

I think part of the problem was that Low Down Sound was in the process of closing down in the months prior to the concert. LDS had big part in the success of the last BassFest, and they unfortunately were already kind of 'out of the game' by the time this one came around.

That being said, I have to agree with you that it would be hard to fill a large room and bring in enough revenue in order to make a profit on something like this. It's a pretty limited audience.

Twice this year I put on a bass event here in Chicago and it was a blast(a sold out house) and it's not even guaranteed that it will be a success each each time.

Concerts get canceled for all types of reasons. It's just the business that we are in.

Sometimes acts even get canceled right in the middle of a big tour.

No matter what you may think about any of the acts on the Detroit Bass Fest bill, the show will definitely pick up, just at a later date and time.

There was a second Bass event that was scheduled to take place in Cali and it was canceled as well. It happens no matter who may be on the bill.

I think it had more to do with the demise of Low Down Sound.

Wow, I don't consider that a "meh" list, I dig a lot of players on that list, I guess to each their own.

++1, I thought it was a pretty decent list and would have been a great hang as fore mentioned. Terrance Palmer..really...you need to get all the Isreal Houghton New Breed cd's and his "Love Letters" what a stink'in GROOVE!!

Who do you dig? Maybe I missed something but from what I saw, I don't think I'd go if I were given tickets.
