When you were touring with Floyd or when your career first took off, how many basses did you own?
How many do you own now? | When i joined Floyd I had about 5, but then people started giving them to me!
I own 21 now, according to my last insurance estimate.. |

I know you've done some work with Jimmy Nail in the past - did you play on the "Spender" theme tune? (I love the bass part on that!).
Cheers,

So how do you like the Warwick Star Bass? |

I used to be more into the Pink Floyd trading community, and I know first hand that a good percentage of the userbase is whiney man-children who think Pink Floyd are being selfish for not emptying their archives and outtakes into the public domain.
I wouldn't be surprised if Guy was getting people asking him about DSOTM tour footage from 1973 or something like that, and then getting abuse if he didn't give the 'right' answers. Honestly, bootleg communities attract the weird people for sure!
I'm surprised Guy was not better known on here, as everybody talks about Pino all the time, and at least Guy is audible in Pink Floyd, whereas Pino is barely detectable in The Who.

BTW, I caught the '94 Floyd tour in Montreal. Your playing was badass! Wasn't expecting you to solo on "One of these days", but it was pretty amazing to behold. And opening the set with "Astonomy Domine" made for one of the most mind-blowing openings to a show I've ever witnessed. |

Also, how did you end up providing music for Spaced and how hands on were Pegg/Wright with you on the project?
Also your tone and playing on Like a prayer....whoa. its one of my favourite octave split tones along with levin's on sledgehammer.

| | | | Guy,
I remember when you came on the scene with Floyd but had no idea how much of you I had in my record collection. I have been a big fan of Measure for Measure since high school. Also, from your book I learned that you were on some of the Robert Palmer stuff as well. I always enjoyed that stuff...
One of the things that I really enjoyed about your book was the story-telling style you possess. I enjoyed the little tidbit and description of the Steinberger bass (my experience was similar, though I was with a nowhere band at the time). Do you still have the Steinberger and does it see any action?
