Did Geddy use very light strings on his Wal?

Sign in to disble this ad
I know Geddy uses a 045-105 gauge now. Geddy's Wal tone, however, sounds like he was using much lighter strings. I seem to remember seeing Geddy in a Rotosound Funkmaster ad back in the 80's. Does anyone know?

Shouldn't you guys be discussing this alone in a corner at a party in the Beklee dorms?

yes he used the funkmasters - I think .30-.90.

He switched to a red wal on the roll the bones album/tour - not sure if he continued to use the FMs on that one as well....
