2) Jamerson was one of the defining bass voices of the Motown style. In that sense, what Jamerson played *was* the Motown style.
Logically it would be impossible to assert that he overplayed or played tastelessly - for the very simple reason that his playing defined the style. It would be like asking "can Fred jump higher than he can jump?"
