If you're specifically talking about the song Damien, I believe Jon Schaffer stated in an interview that he re-recorded the intro himself (that's another topic), so you'd have to ask somebody who knows about Jon's setup what he used to record that.

In terms of the rest on a fretted P/J, short answer for now is yes and no, depends on the individual part. I recall very little about that album, so somebody else would know better than myself.

Digiorgio does play fretted bass as well. In fact I believe he has a double neck with a fretted and fretless. Now that you mention it most of Horror Show sounds fretted to me. I will have to listen to it now to see. You could always visit his page on Ultimate Metal and ask him. He usually will answer most of these types of questions.
