The Ire Works record is about to come out. I got a leak copy and I'm seriously diggin it. So get ready for a serious album. As I was listening I noticed some cool stuff about the bassist. Anybody got any info on him? What basses he plays and what gear he uses stuff of that nature? Oh, and Gil Sharone was definately a great addition to the band. So hook me up with knowledge.

Great band, absolutely amazing to see live. Their bassists is very good, great tone, all I know is that he uses G&L.

I don't know much about the bassist, but definitely look forward to getting this album. Last time I checked, it was streaming on their myspace page.

Counting the minutes myself too. Fantastic band, great bassist, most aggressive band since Napalm.

I've seen videos of them in the past where the bassist was playing assortments of Jazz Basses, and then eventually he switched (or maybe they had a change of bass players? I don't know) to G&L. He plays an L-2000. I'll be able to tell you guys all about his gear when I see them December 20th at The Station in Portland, ME I'm quite excited, I'm yet to see DEP live.

I am yet to give the new album a thorough listen through, but my roomate who is also a fan liked it at first, and still holds to the comparison that it's a good mix of Miss Machine and Calculating Infinity, but feels that it's not as good of an album as a whole compared to Miss Machine. He enjoys it, but isn't completely floored by it. I just need to find the time to sit down and listen to it.

I've seen videos of Gil playing, and have heard clips of what he does on the new album, and I'm definately digging him. It's unfortunate that Chris, a core member of the band, went his seperate way, but I'm glad that Gil not only can fill his shoes, but does so quite well!

Hopefully I'm also going to see them at The Station. It'll be a birthday present to my younger brother (he's a drummer, I'm pretty sure Gil's going to blow his mind, not to mention the chaos that come with seeing DEP)

He does use G&L Basses, but all I could find about his amps was a sentance about a Line6 LowDown combo:

He played a G&L both times I saw em. Great live band as well, technically very tight, and Greg is a monster on-stage. I'm interested in hearing the new album!

In that YouTube video Liam appears to be playing a Jazz Bass through an SVT rig. Awesome clip by the way!

He played a natural L-2000 when I saw them a year or two ago. I don't know if he plays G&Ls exclusively, but he's featured in a Bass Player ad for G&L playing a blonde L-2000 so I'm guessing he plays them almost exclusively.

I can't listen to Dillinger Escape Plan all the time, but I think they're a great band. Just watch out at the shows. I can't tell how many times I almost got hit by a headstock. One of their guitarists flew hella far and his knees nearly hit me in the face.

He had a beard, wore short shorts and had an extremely wide squatting stance when I saw him... they played with some indie band and AFI when I saw them - makes sense right?

He was voted to be PETA's sexiest vegan a few years back, if that helps any.

Thought I bumb this up. Ire Works is out today. Gotta go and buy it now before I'm broke again for months.

When I saw them live I kinda didn't pay attention what bass Liam plays... it's a mayhem out there live.

(And I was hoping they summon Mike Patton to sing "When Good Dog does Bad Things" )

I wish they had done a full length at least 60 minute album with Patton. Their best stuff by far for me is that short EP they did. Don't really dig the singer now or their old one.
