Einziger said he and the rest of the band — frontman Brandon Boyd, bassist Alex Katunich, drummer José Pasillas, and turntablist DJ Lyfe — can't wait to return to the road, and plan to do so this fall. Incubus have tentative plans for a brief club tour around the album's release date that will likely be followed by a more expansive run of theaters in 2007.

Yet the band photo at the top of the article clearly shows Mr. Kenney. I'm guessing the reporter used some old source material in their research (or lack of? :P).

Though for a moment I entertained the idea of Alex rejoining Incubus... and as much as I love his playing on the old albums, Ben is far more appropriate for the music they are writing now.

Just my 2 copper.

I agree that Bens style is more in step with post- 'Morning View' incubus music. The more supportive role Ben Kenney has, suits the new style of Incubus. But I do sometimes miss Alexs more technical/slap style playing . Come to think of it, Alex has a more supportive role in 'Morning View'.........

Maybe a solution is to have both of them in the band! IMO a good solution!

hm..strange..

i always felt incubus was better with alex, they were more experimental and creative that way...their new stuff with ben kenney change the sound a lot...but maybe thats the direction they were heading...? anyways...better shutup before the alex vs ben debate gets started up again

keep us posted!

Yeh, its wrong. Its quotes DJ Lyfe going on tour as well, and he left between SCIENCE and Make Yourself. Poor research skills.

Hmmm, Ben is without a doubt a great bassist, but his tone live was very clanky, didn't like that at all.

Well, thats the nail in the coffin. For what it's worth, I prefer Alex's tone and style, but I'm not overly wild about Incubus anyway.

Dirk had killer tone though... the song itself kinda gets on my nerves, but what a tone on "Speak Free" - that's the sort of work that made me buy a Warwick in the first place.

I loved their bass player on Morning View. Actually, Morning View is really the only Incubus album I like (more like LOVE, that album is incredible).

I got word that it is a matter of sloppy writing. Ben's still there. My man talked to him late last night, or so I was told.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure Alex was using some kind of Fender Jazz bass on that album-thats what he's pictured with in the book too.

LOL, that's funny, they went and changed it. Which in one way it's good because now it's accurate information. But on the other hand, they didn't even acknowledge the mistake. In the "good ol'" days of print journalism, they'd have had to eat a little crow and print a retraction or a correction.

Ah well, done and done.
