yep.

well i dont think he had the duncans in during S.C.I.E.N.C.E., but I'm not 100 percent sure of that.

Also Eden and a lot of compression.

Warwick's are naturally a bit compressed in tone. I do think that he uses a lot of compression in the studio though.

Some of his grooves sound soooooo warm, punchy, and smoooth and its for sure compression.....

:)

I think I read he used a Sansamp too. So it was the Eden + Warwick + just plain good technique.

Compression never gave me punch, warmth, or smoothness. It always left me wondering what it was supposed to be doing.

Dirk Lance's bass on SCIENCE is great. Tone, composition, style, everything about it is great on that album.

P-Nut and Dirk Lance are the reasons why I sought after a Streamer Stage II. Now I can't get enough of that TONNNEEEE.

I just saw Alex this weekend, and while I don't want to be the first to make any announcements, he very well could be playing with a very popular female R&B singer very soon. It would be a very nice gig to say the least.

As far as his tone goes, Alex used Eden amps and cabs, and the secret to his tone was his Sansamp unit and his fuzz pedal. He had the Sansamp distorting the signal and then added the fuzz for the extra distortion on parts. He did use a seperate compressor, but I can't recall the type right now. Let's just say his tone was very compressed from all the effects.

I heard somewhere that he's gonna join Jamiroquai. Although this is just something I read over at mxforums.

Yeah, that was a rather incorrect rumor a year or two ago...it never happened.

Incubus' new bassist is decent but Dirk is just that guy you know? he is the man. Big influence to me.
