Do you think this would be odd?

I'll be seeing Verdine White and Jason Scheff (I play for a company and one of my friends there is close friends with Verdine), and they've been quite influential to my playing. They're all friends and all, and I don't want to come off as an obsessive fanboy because the last thing I would do is worship another human. Question: Is it odd for one bassist "friend" (even through another friend) to ask for another bassist's signature(s)? They'd probably be on my bass.

I'm sure they've been asked before. Do what makes you happy, at least before the lawsuit wipes you out.
