1) Dirk is a stage name.
2) Word is, he got tired of doing the slow songs and totally abandoning their old style..

I don't blame him, old Incubus is kick ass, the generic crap they are putting out now disgusts me.

Medium off Fungus Amongus is probably their best song, despite someone idiot subject matter, it's a kick ass tune. Good album. Along with SCIENCE, after that they became less concerned with making music.

Dirk/Alex left the sinking ship before it sunk deeper into the MTV wastelands...mind you, he was already waist deep when he swam off.
