I should have clarified, no disrespect to the man...everything that pours out of him is great. I've seen him other times as well, including the Guitar Shop tour with SRV just before the helicopter :-( All I'm saying is, the tour last year, maybe it was the small orchestra hall setting, a rejuvenation jamming with those talented younger kids, I don't know. But he was *really really really* doing things so intricate and amazing, it was more than my just being right there. I'll say it again, I hope to hell there is an f'ing dvd out someday.

I missed that one because he didn't come to my town. But I did hear from several sources that his playing seemed 'extra inspired'. Some say that it may be because he was back playing more 'song oriented' stuff with Beth Hart on vocals and such, took the stress off him as the main spotlight and stuff. Also probably had something to do with Vinnie/Pino too (not to take anything away from the guys on the two previous tours), because I know Jeff loves a great drummer. Wish I could have seen it!

Last Beck

I saw that Tour as well in Chicago. He seemed really on top of it with the vocals songs, but struggled and fumbled on some of the earlier material like Scatterbrain. He had real trouble keeping that going. Overall it was an off night for him, a lack of domination I have seen him have on some of his recent techno tours (Which I enjoyed)

Eric Clapton was in town at the same time and they talk of the town was one showing up at the other's show, but it did not happen.

This was a mini-tour *after* that one with the singer and Pino, with a bunch of unknown kids (i.e. in their early 20's...great keyboard payer, the bass player was more of a sub-bass guy). All instrumental except for a chica who came out and sang on a couple of songs.
