Looks like he is doing the 'Steely Dan' thing, along with his solo stuff... including cuts from his new CD that was just released.

Does anyone recognize the bassist?

I have tickets for the Detroit concert next week. It's at the Opera House.... wonderful, small venue.

KJ-
There's another thread(currently South of this one)...Freddie Washington is mentioned.
(He's playing on the soon-to-be-released album , too).

I was hoping Freddie would be touring, but that's not Freddie in the link that I posted.

The bassist on the current Donald Fagen Band tour, and on the vidoes and pics on that link, definitely IS "Ready "Freddie Washington.

Here is a link to another pic of him for identification purposes only :

I don't think there can be ANY doubt that this is the same player.

You are correct! It's funny... I was looking at the playing clips, and the bassist looked like a white guy! I was confused... now that I look at some of the still shots, it is Freddie... awesome, I've always wanted to see him live.

Thanks,

K

You're very welcome.

I'm just sorry that, yet again, we in Europe are going to miss out on the tour.

I've heard the audio from that show and the bassist is introduced by Donald Fagen as "Ready Freddie Washington".

The set list, by the way was:

1) Here At The Western World '06
2) The Nightfly
3) Green Flower Street
4) Teahouse On The Tracks
5) New Frontier
6) Third World Man
7) Home At Last
8) Band Intro
9) Snowbound

1) Intro
2) H Gang
3) What I Do
4) Black Cow
5) The Goodbye Look
6) Tomorrow's Girls
7) Misery and the Blues (Jack Teagarden)
8) Mary Shut The Garden Door
9) IGY

Encore:
10) Pretzel Logic
11) Viva Viva Rock and Roll (Chuck Berry)
