Don't even have a day job...

None of this machinery crap will ever replace a bass player. Just won't happen...

Sounds like a description of a clavinet, to me.

Uh...yeah...about that...

Keyboardists have been occupying our sonic space for about 3decades, and heavy-metal guitarists have been complaining that a bassist's job is to be seen and not heard since the 80's.

The fact of the matter is, as people like to see and hear "musicians" and not digitally or electronically reproduced incarnations, I wouldn't worry. That stuff may find its niche, but it won't be in the sonic and visual territory that most of us tend to occupy, anyway. Heck...even Madonna has a bassist!

that sounds like a pretty cool invention, but i dont know of any bassists anywhere that it could replace. you cant beat the human feel of things. we've had drum machines for years and years but we still have live drummers am i right?

Don't quit your day job......................

Not to worry. I remember when the Fairlight stuff came out and the word then was drummers and bass players would soon be phased out. It hasn't happened yet.

*Off topic* I may have found a better paying job, but it's a swing/graveyard position. If it pans out, I will be leaving my present day job. It's too early to tell, but my bar-band days may be over for quite some time.

But If I'm able to pull off Sunday mornings, I'll start playing in church again. IMO it's a much saner gig anyway!

You have to click images.

And this was meant as a joke I don't think it's really feasible. Unless there are still One Man Bands walking around.

Heh, heh, Don't be so sure. I just saw an act at the Fair that was all kareoke.....and the crowd loved him. I thought it sucked, but more liked it than hated it.

the only one man band ive heard that was really good was Sleep Terror, but they are basically a full band now, minus a bassist, but they do record real bass tracks though. theyll probably get a second guitarist and bassist once they find one good enough

Im sorry but bass players always have a tough time.I didnt know a keyboardist disliked me until the other day and the reason was I play bass.
