I am a big fan of the first few Santana albums with David Brown on bass. Ive not heard alot of doug rauch anywhere. It seems he was a great bassist then died very young. I was just wondering if anyone had anything to add. What albums would you recommend. Anyone have any pics?

Besides the albums he did with Santana, you can check out Lenny White's 'Venusian Summer', Billy Cobham's 'Life & Times' and the Santana/Mclaughlin collaboration. You can do a search here too, but info on Rauch is pretty slim. He was a awesome player and a huge influence on the scene at the time.

p.s. If you can, download Chicken-Fried Steak from Venusian Summer, a early example of double thumping. There is a lot of playing on that album that influenced Marcus Miller in a big way.
