Yeah Squarepusher is top of the list, he plays the bass himself doesn't he?

Other electronic artists I've noticed good bass-work in are
Kyoto Jazz Massive,
Jazztronik,
Tosca,
Groove Armada.

Not alot of real bass being use, shame!

Roni Size uses a lot of live electric and double bass on his stuff, as well as other live instruments... definitely worth checking out.

he uses some good double bass lines...they always sound deep and groovy.

New Forms is essential drum'n'bass, and Touching Down vols. 1 and 2 are pretty damn good too.

If you like slightly rockier stuff, check out a band called Skindred too... metal with serious jungle/dub/reggae influences, and pretty damn good at that.

Just to follow up on this, Kirwan Brown can be found at
www.myspace.com/kirwanbrownmusic

There are some very recent tracks up there...
More folks should be checking him out...
