Dunno where to post this... how to become part of a pit orchestra?!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey TB,

So, i've been really wanting to play in a pit orchestra for a musical.

I did this in High School... but geez... that was a decade ago. I don't have any real contacts with musical production companies, now-a-days, either.

So, how would someone go about setting this up? Any tips from dude(ette)s that play in a pit?

Thanks!

You usually have to audition with the orchestra. If you can find the website of the orchestra that you're interested in, they usually list when they have openings for a spot.

A lot of it has to do with where you live. Most gigs like this are gotten through knowing people-it's all about making and/or having connections.
