I dig. Is he in a band? I'd like to hear him in a band context.

After seeing all these amazing youtube vids, I'm not gonna lie, I was completely disappointed by the album previews... Then again, I get the feeling that I'm not the type of person that would actually "get" them anyway.

You're welcome! He deserves some recognition for sure. He has such a huge pocket and deep groove sensibility, then can turn around and play blistering gospel tinged jazz-fusion lines.

It makes sense that George Duke and Jack DeJohnette are asking him to play with them. And he's so young.

He also is a bit of a hidden monster on upright.

Is it true that he covers the headstock on the bass because he doesn't want to give a free endorsement?

I doubt it.

For instance, he endorses EBS (as far as I can tell).

Also he covers the headstock on all of his basses, which is a KSD, Fender and 2 Laklands.
