Then again, I get the feeling that I'm not the type of person that would actually "get" them anyway.

It makes sense that George Duke and Jack DeJohnette are asking him to play with them. And he's so young.
He also is a bit of a hidden monster on upright.

For instance, he endorses EBS (as far as I can tell).
Also he covers the headstock on all of his basses, which is a KSD, Fender and 2 Laklands.
