Hey,
I saw them play last night in the Ambassador Theatre in Dublin.
I can honestly say it was one of the best shows I have ever been to!
While they're music isn't always very technically challenging they are brilliant entertainers and they have so much energy. Jesse is a fantastic front man.
While I'm not sure how much he has played on the albums (I think Josh Homme recorded most of it), live, I think Brian O'Connor's playing fits the music really well. He and Gene Trautmann are a great rhythm section.
They played 2 encores.
I'll definitely go and see them the next time they play!

Bass tone is pretty cool on that album. |

Both have had to fight and claw to get any notice. I think it's a damn shame that the major record labels ignore talents like these, but I sure love it when they find a way in the back door like these two bands did. |

| Did you see their huge basspalyer? With low-slung t-bird or precision... that guy was freaky when I saw them in Brisbane recently... I swear he's got the biggest hands of any bassist! And looks like some weird extra or mute undertaker out of an eastern European gonzo film...
great show though.
it all made sense when they played ELO's Don't Bring me Down as the walk-off song on the PA.

| I believe his nickname is "Big Hands" and I'm not surprised. He has really really deep voice too. He was playing a precision on Wednesday night, it looked like it had been through the wars as it was fairly battered.

| He does play with them on occasion but he's touring with QOTSA in the US at the moment so he isn't playing on the EODM European tour, so I've been told anyhow.

I was in a band opening for Gogol Bordello 3 times in Boston and NY, and if I ever saw one of them again I would cross the street. (And that goes for their female dancers too) They are entertaining IF you don't know them personally.
Now if you are talking about World Inferno Friendship Society, they are Very nice people. |
