Here is the bass

or I could have just asked are the tech/s at the knoxville gc good?

Just called, slight bow in the neck and they use a third party tech for repairs.

Would loved to have had you there, Neal. I posted to the thread and hoped you would have seen it. Next one I'll be sure to send you a text or call. In fact, I'll send you a PM shortly.

I would if I were closer. I'm about an hour from there. If it wasn't a tech looking at it he may have mistaken relief for bow. Wouldn't be unheard of. You may be able to negotiate it down even more and end up with a really good deal. Maybe a local Knoxville guy will chime in here shortly to lay hands on it for you. Good luck!

Hey iamoldschool, yeah I was thinking bow as well (was not a tech) and I do appreciate the thought of you going to inspect the bass. Is it even worth it to haggle with GC?

You guys are a fun band that plays more than just "the usual".....

In all my years Ive never played SPACE TRUCKIN live....now i can rest easy...

I admire the way you accomodated the non paying obnoxious drunk guy that came in at the end of the nite demanding "skynyrd"....and I really admire the way that after you played it, and then he demanded MORE SKYNYRD...you declined. Very diplomatic.

I asked Swafford if he knew the guy and he said no. I said "that guy is my worst nitemare"......

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: BE CAREFUL WHERE YOU PARK IF YOU PLAY SCHMUCKS:

YOU WILL BE TOWED.

and thats a 'hole 'nother story..........

p.s.....the checks in the mail!

I know that guy ! He has shown up at every gig that I have ever played in my entire life.

Sounds like I missed a fun time. Bass players are the best group of people on this earth.

I tip my hat to you, Richard !

The band was very gracious. I was there for most of the nite and didnt see this guy till the end when he wandered in. By end of 4th set the place was just about empty and he WOULD NOT let it go.

While I like Skynyrd ok, there are a lot more bands in the world. Swafford was the ultimate gentleman in handling the situation.

Hey All! My band is thinking of going thru some changes and we are looking for a keyboard player and possibly one or two horns. We are a blues band in the Tri-Cities area, so if you know someone maybe you could send them my way. Here is my email---dogcreekric@gmail.com. Here is a link to our site to get an idea of our music http://www.stevehayesandthehurricanes.com Thanks for any help.

Well, I just looked up John Pytel again to have a bunch of work done and it seems he has moved to Asheville.

Anyone have any suggestions for another good luthier in the tri-cities area ? As I am sure you are aware, we have a few chuckleheads in the neighborhood with a set of small screwdrivers that claim they know what they are doing.

Hey guys,

This might be a silly question, but can any of you make a couple suggestions for good bars/clubs/venues to play in the Tri-Cities area that are supportive of original music acts? My band (Tame the Hurricane) has been looking to move out of Knoxville, and the Tri-Cities area is big on our list of places to hit up. If anyone would be interested in gig swapping we could definitely make something happen!

I have seen a couple of your vids and you guys have some great originals. I know there are a couple of clubs down in JC (college town) that would work. Maybe a club or two in Bristol as well. I'll see if I can get you a name or two. I'll have to ask our guitar player's kids.

Of the clubs I know of up here, most are broken in to the following types. Accoustic/coffee house, hard rock new/old school, blues/rock/country rock/ classic rock, and finally hard country/bluegrass.

No real listening clubs here. You may be better off doing the Ashville shuffle.
