what rock group would be the easiest to cover for a band? say about 10-15 of their songs. lets say said cover band was a power trio - guitar, bass, drum. |

also, be more specific with 'rock'... I instantly thought of the stuff my first band played which might be completely different that what you had in mind.
We did stuff like;
Destroyer by the Kinks
Born to be wild by Steppenwolf
Gloria, Two hearts beat as one and New Years Day by U2
Walkin on the Moon and Message in a bottle by the Police
Sunshine of your love and Badge by Cream
Rock & Roll and Heartbreaker by Led Zep
Paranoid by Black Sabbath
Grinder and Breaking the law by Judas Priest
and quite a few others. |

For old guys like me, The Stones.

Sunshine of Your Love (Cream)
That'll Be The Day (Holly)
Sharp-Dressed Man (ZZTop)
Working Man (Rush)
Any number of blues
Look for what I call some good "strummers", like early Beatles, Stones, and most of CCR's songs. Songs that are easy to learn and play, where the guitar basically strums along, the bass plays root-and-fifth, and the drummer keeps a simple beat.
Also look for some newer songs. I'm a geezer!

Power trio!
Their back story is very interesting.
I do actually like their music, but it is an acquired taste....
