Great clip! I love Ed's playing, and you couldn't ask for a better resource when curious about new gear(especially Genz Benz IMO).

I'm so happy that he's finally posting some more videos, his reviews are the best I've ever seen and his playing is inspiring.

I got a Shuttle 6.0 +1x12 Combo because of Mr. Freidland.

I am very, very happy with it!

Actually, I also bought a MXR Bass Octave Deluxe because of Ed's review too.. Very pleased with that also!

His reviews are great. I got my L2k Tribute based largely on his review. (I almost returned it because I can never get mine to sound like that!). He's been great for me.

If you happen to read this Ed, just wanted to say how much I dig your reviews of amps and basses. Love the fact that you give us all three playing flavors; finger style, picking and slapping. I don't do the slap style well at all and nothing is worse than checking out a review of something I might be interested in and all the guy does is the slap style and nothing else....and sometimes not very good either.

Thanks for all you do.

Thanks all. I've had some extra footage from the last two projects, so I'm "padding" the channel a bit. It'll be quiet for a while when these two contracts are done. Thanks for the nice comments on the playing, I felt okay about the clips so I put them up. Still, lots of clams.... but then people like clam chowder, so I'm okay. As much as I try to help my students not be like this, I'm overly critical of my own playing, so it's rare for me to actually let stuff like that out to the public. All I hear is how much more work I have to do on the 6... still trying to learn where the hell I am on that fingerboard, but I can get around by ear reasonably well. But when I listen to cats like Adam Nitti, or Hadrien, or Janek.... I realize how sagging my chops are!

I still have a BIG demo of the Basswitch coming, and a few more extras from the Shuttle too. So there will be more coming down the line soon.

I'm glad people are happy to see new stuff.... if you want more - start emailing your favorite companies and tell them to hire me! Bass Player has no budget for video, and I won't go through all that for the fun or glory, so... Let them know!

What a great example of how fantastic this site and community is...

Ed - I am raising a glass in your direction right now. Thanks for everything! (The books; the reviews; the sage advice and so on)

Cheers!

Ed, I take it that you are playing the Ken Smith that you fell in love with at the 2011 NAMM? Whatever the case, you sound wonderful!
