Cool Energetic Bassists...

Who is everyones favourite energetic bassist? The sort who don't limit themselves to a fixed spot and throw themselves around a little bit

Personally I like Taka from Feeder, he's great to watch and he bounces around like a spring loaded bass machiene Shame I can't play fingerstyle like him though...

Either way, pick or no pick, its hard to keep a tune while going crazy!

Feeder are an indie rock band from wales. started out in the 90s. probably most famous for their quite recent stuff which isnt as energetic as their earlier work. check the video, see if you recognize:

Verdine White of Earth Wind & Fire. I don't think I have ever seen a clip of him standing still. He dances around the stage and never seems to miss a note.

Of course my all time favorite, Abraham Laboriel, is still quite the mover even though he's in his 60's.

Abe Laboriel... He's old enough to be my dad and still manages to jump around and play his a$$ off at the same time.

hmm.. Maybe Steve Harris.. Lot`s of energy when on stage..

It looks kinda funny when all three guitarists of Maiden just stand there when Bruce and Steve are running wildy across the stage..

I do enjoy Shavo odadjian of system of a down, he tends to move about alot, and keep a beat too.

But for non-bass, I would def. have to Doktor Flake Lorenz of rammstein, he plays keybords, but he rides around the stage on a segway, dances, shouts fire, the whole nineyards, never i dull moment with him.

Leo Lyons' performance with Ten Years After at Woodstock impressed me a lot when I saw the movie for the first time because of his stage energy.

Jack Blades - Night Ranger. All over the place and still manages to make it back to the mic for lead vocals. A truly energetic, entertaining guy.

Steve Harris is definately the most energetic bassist I've seen live. He tears butt around the stage like a made man, all while pumping those lines out like nobodys buisness. He's crazy!

Chris #2 from Anti-Flag just exudes energy, through his style of playing, through vocals, powerful stage presence and he does these isane Kick jump things that should probably be impossible for most males, LOL. Plenty of jumping off 810's, and into the crowd too. Very fun to watch!

Exhibit A:

Exhibit B:

And I present to you Exhibit C, which also shows some extreme bass face, hehe.

All I can say is most enegertic bassists are insanely fit... The shear strength it takes to pull those moves off and not Screw up your body OR your playing is pretty impressive.
