Eric Judy

For those of you aware of modest mouse's core member and bassist Eric Judy. Lately I've gotten heavy into mm's music; their spacey blend of indie rock is really something. Eric Judy's playing is modest for the most part but his style is really unique; he's painfully melodic at times (Talking $hit about a pretty sunset) (One Chance) but lays down a solid groove with drummer Jeremiah Green. Styrofaom Boots/It's alll nice on ice, alright is a great example. I thought his style deserved discussion

I'm pretty much a momo fan boy, but i only recently realized how fantastic erics playing is, I'm thoroughly convinced that his line on third planet is one of the greatest basslines ever written

this thread needs more posts.

Eric Judy is easily the biggest reason I play bass. His line in "Ocean Breathes Salty" was the first bassline I ever had really catch my ear.

modest mouse The Whale Song - YouTube I've been recently listening to Modest Mouse, and I may not know much, but his sound on this live version of "The Whale Song" is fantastic!

The basslines from Whale Song and Dramamine are what got me into MM in the first place. He's such an inventive, melodic player.

I jam with my boss and his 40-something pals. I started playing Dramamine last night, and everyone got really into it. We ended up spending half an hour on it, and these are guys who usually play Clapton and Hendrix covers!

Yes, he is incredible melodic but very powerful, excelent to star with. For me here are his highlights:
- Dramamine
- Edit The Sad Parts
- Tiny Cities Made of Ashes
