I just have to give this guy props. A very great and underrated bassist. Its really amazing that he and the drummer were way into punk music and when getting with Brad , they really developed their reggae/ska styles. Bud Gaugh is a very great drummer also . Anyone know what amps and strings Eric Wilson used? I thought I saw him using a Blonde SWR amp in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B46vJoo1kCE. Im not sure though. He had an amazing tone. With amazing basslines. Nothign really flashy but they impress me . He's one of my biggest influences.

Eric Wilson is the reason I started playing bass.....
Nothing flashy, but he always had such a cool groove.

I actually looked around for a while to find out about his gear, but didn't come up with anything.

I just recently met and played with Eric Wilson out in Azusa with the Grammy's. He's a really nice guy but you'd think he'd be more into bass than he appears to be. He actually played drums for us rather than a lot of bass but nonetheless, a very talented musician and he obviously has an amazing ear for those basslines =)

He's one of the dudes who got me really into playing bass. Great lines, great tone. I think his tone has more to do with his EQ settings than his gear, though. He has that great dubby tone where you boost the bass and cut the mids and highs, if you can have a knob for changing the frequency of the mids turn that all the way up so it comes out really deep.

Eric Wilson is my favorite bass player. I know that he uses SWR but not sure exactly what his rigs are.

He's the man....He also plays guitar pretty darn good too. He uses Celinder P Basses and various AGUILAR gear. I have seen him live w/ his new band LB SHORTBUS and he has used the following:
Aguilar DB680/DB728/GS412
Aguilar DB750/GS410/GS212
Aguilar AG500212 Combo
RENTED SVT rigs
He is on the Aguilar wesite under Endorsers too

Ultra fat tone & propulsive groove without being in the way. I think he may also be using a low-pass filter when recorded.
