God - maybe I'll start watching TV again. Great news. Glad someone here's passed it along!

PBS is inviting public comment and wants to hear from you now. Support diverse and innovative programming on public television by telling PBS to fund Find The Beat with Esperanza Spalding: DIFundSubmission@pbs.org
Just thought I'd repeat the end of the article - without input from all of us, (and judging by the every two-three week fund raising PBS seems to do) even though I voiced my thumbs up, I won't be holding my breath.

God is likely happy you haven't been!

BTW, of TV, habit used to be to fall asleep in the couch watching late night TV. Late night, body-wise is around midnite is all. Anyway one night I wake, in a semi-conscious daze, and there on the tele is this beautiful angelic creature, with aural silk (being unfortunately digitize) filling my ears... ??? Who?? with my fuzzy vision vignetting the whole scene, I see this woman with one beautiful 70's era afro, against a purple/mauve background, MANhandling an upright....with an angelic voice.... thought it was 1970 again man....

God, I wished it was true I was 10 years old .. but...

no dice. yet, it was a wonderful 'dream' called Espranza Spaulding*. A true beacon for Mother Music's best work!

*(on Letterman whom I ususally never watch - he seems REALLY stiff man, esp with babe guests and I used to be a professional 'interviewer' so I can't handle his "tradecraft".. anywa, why was it on channel 4 that night????. God? And is He a Woman?? )

I can't believe she's gotten so popular so fast. It's great though - sometimes people come into success who really deserve it. I'll be watching for sure.

I'm going to One of Prince's shows 12/17/10 and I hear she might be a guest artist. Should be interesting if she is.
