Dunno if this has been posted before but although I always loved Stu Zender playing, Paul Turner is a groove monster.

Check this vid and also the other ones from the same member:

I like both Paul Turner and Nick Fyffe better than Stuart Zender. Zender's fine, but I like the other guys better.

Paul's playing is more groovy for sure...Stu did more "out there" stuff...

Turner's stuff is more the FUNK thang...while Zender was more the ACID JAZZ thing.

Stu Zen is a really good bassist but Paul Turner is way groovier and more inventive, IMO! I think Paul has way more soul as well!

Wonderful! It just feels so good. I love the tone also. I assume that's the Alleva he's playing. It sounds like it is, but cant' really tell.

Man, clean and groovin'!

To me the funkiest part of that video is the first section which is from "If I Like I Do I" a Zender line, pretty much note for note and feel.

Having said that I don't mean for this post to sound like I'm trying to change minds or argue. if you like Nick and Paul better good on ya!
For me it's still Zender(go figure huh)

Well there's nothing wrong with Stuart Zender. He's laid down some heavy stuff. I just prefer the heavier tones the other two guys get.

Hi Jimmy,

I didn't mean for it to be directed at you in particular sorry about that. I reread the thread and realized you were the only one saying that you preferred Paul so I can see how it would come across. My fault, I do apologize. As far as tone goes Turner definitely has the vintage thing going.

I Love his tone on this one:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YvIbTib8MqQ

I read on another forum that he used his red pbass on the verse and his mm on the chorus.
