The Evolution of Paul McCartney's bass playing

Sign in to disble this ad
I was watching Standing in the Shadows of Motown today (great DVD by the way), and I started wondering if Jamerson influenced McCartney.

I know Jamerson influenced just about every bassist of that era but I just had to know specifically! So I googled it of course and stumbled on this amazing article. Great insight into Paul's playing, it definitely inspired me to learn a couple more beatles songs.

Anyway, I hope you find it interesting. And I'm sorry if this has been posted before.

Cheers!

Didn`t read the entire article, but Paul has said he was quite heavily Jamerson influenced although he didn`t know who the player was at the time.

Enjoyed this quote from the [link] article:
'This makes the player work harder to hit each note and therefore tends to keep the player from being too "cute" or fancy.'
