Anyone know any? The only guy I can name off the top of my head is Tye Zamora, and he's not really known.

Didden' the bass player for dave mason play a 6 string of some kind? If you watch a video on youtube where he performs "we just disagree" live, the bass player is playing 6 string bass. As to how famous he is that I don't know. anyone here know who he is/was? Wasen't he from mason's band traffic?

JoJo Garza of Los Lonely Boys - and I can't tell you how much I appreciate the fact that he plays the instrument like a bassist instead of a darned guitarist!

Not AS famous, but the bassist from Karnivool plays a 6, IMO he's one of the most 'in the pocket' contemporary metal/rock bassist around. Check out Sewn & Silent and Roquefort, great bass grooves in both.
