Carles Benavent, from Spain.

Cachao, from Cuba, if you are talking about all types of bass players.

Andy Gonzales - not sure if he was born in Puerto Rico or New York, but his family is from Puerto Rico.

Eddie Gomez, Puerto Rico.

Ruben Rodriguez, Puerto Rico.

Pedro Aznar, Argentina. Not worldwide famous, but has had a very succesfull career as a bass player and solo artist in Latin America.

Spanish Bassist??

Well, if you are clarifying that by saying SPANISH bassist, you mean any famous bass player of Latino origin....

I would say Abraham Laboriel. He's a native of Honduras. He's a smokin' bass player. Look him up on YouTube.

Laboriel born in Mexico. He is a top bass player, more a jazz oriented.
Cachao Lopez is another great bass' legend, Latin Music player.

Latin Rock music I would say Sabo Romo,

I would say Rafael Escote one of my favourite players. When Jaco was starting to shine he was already doing what Jaco did. Great player, check some of his work here.

http://www.rafaelescote.com/english/...mp3Player.html

For Rock I would name Zeta Bocio, from Argentina, he used to hold it down with Soda Stereo. A true legend in Latin Rock.
