Farewell to Kings Time Sig?

Sign in to disble this ad
In the mid section/guitar solo of Rush's "Farewell to Kings", Geddy goes into a real funky time signature, and I can't figure it out. Rush does that alot. Amazing how a band can be so freaking awesome that you hinge on every note they play, yet piss you off so much because they are that freaking awesome, and you can't figure out everything they're doing, huh? Anybody know the time (signature, that is)?

One of my fave is the instrumental section of Jacob's Ladder, which alternates bars of 6/8 and 7/8. 4/4 must be musically boring to Rush.

Haha, QFT. I've given up trying to work out the metres used in some Rush and also Dream Theater songs, because, damn, I just lose count half way through the bar... Or it might be on the third bar... I can never tell the difference when they really get going.

But yeah: Farewell To Kings and Hemispheres. Those albums are unadulterated win.
