It's not even technically a solo, but it's worth mentioning: John Paul Jones in Led Zeppelin's "Lemon Song." The verse where Page just drops out... yea

Mike Gordon: Basically any version of Phish's "Lawn Boy," and the bass solo in the A Live One recording of You Enjoy Myself is pretty sweet too. Helps he has Fishman drumming for him, apparently, the guy can play some drums

There's many good....But the first ones that come to mind is Scott Ambush's (Spyro Gyra) solo on Deep End from North Sea Festival 2003 (should be easy to find on youtube), and Louis Johnson with George Duke in 1983 as someone mentioned
