We've all had the "favorite bass player" talk, but where would suggest someone getting into them start?
Mine is Brian Cook on Easter by These arms Are Snakes.

Now 20 years later I agree with this. LZII is the perfect bass album. |

Personally, I love the bass sound on Tool's Lateralus album. The melodic thing works for me. |

A very under rated bass album however is Jethro Tull "Thick as a Brick".
How's that?

| | | For me it was seeing the 2005 Cream reunion CD. Jack Bruce and his early Gibson bass sounded wonderful and seeing the guys have fun playing together again after all that they've been through was moving, to say the least.
I had tried playing the bass back in the early 80's when I had an ibanez flying V but I sold it and my Peavey rig for $250 to help pay for college

Rush-A Farewell to Kings, Moving Pictures, Geddy is....well geddy
