Favorite bassist who's also the lead singer?

For years, I'd have said my favorite would be Al Cisneros of Sleep fame. I saw him perform live with Om and I'm still just blown away by his tone.

However, his voice is... ok, at best. I enjoy it, but much like a Jack in the Box sandwich I realize it's nothing special even as I enjoy it.

Yesterday, I discovered someone who I think may replace ole Al in my affections. An act that's a combo of sultry, smokey female vocals and smooth bass lines, all coming from the same person.

I'm referring to Colleen Duffy of Devil Doll (actually, she may be the entire act just backed up by studio musicians, not sure). Here are a couple of the songs that highlight why I like her so much. Probably nsfw, despite the lack of profanity.

Less obvious choice here.

John Cooper-Skillet.

nothing spectacular when it comes to his playing, but I like his voice, and love their music.

Wow...so many choices.

Geddy Lee
Sting
Mark King
Peter Cetera
Esperanza Spalding
Sheryl Crow
John Cowan

I'm sure I've missed a several.

I'm a lot better singer than I am a bass player, but I can't do both for some odd reason. I'd guess it's because I tend to get absorbed into the song when I sing. I don't have enough brain power left over to play. I'm not Geddy Lee. LOL!

+1 on Paul, Bona, Sting, Esperanza, Geddy, Cetera, King, Greg Lake. (edit): and Mark Sandman, R.I.P.

I'd also add Doug Pinnick (King's X) and Roger Waters

There's nothing more soothing than the velvety vocal stylings of one Les Claypool.

Oh, and Kip Winger.
