I was made a believer by the incredible concert video "Stop Making Sense" back in the 80's. She's so damn funky and tasteful.

I think there are some real cool ladies for bass. The girl from the GoGo's, for one. Really made the songs listenable. Listen to her lines sometimes.
Sara Lee(I think is her name) from B52's fame. Loveshack, baby!!
And the lady who did some touring and recording with Sting. Awesome. Not sure her name, but wow. I think she was the bassist in The Waitresses, also(early 80's)
1 more. The woman in David Bowies band. OMG. Great player, awesome vocals. So musical
