Favorite NEW rock bassist?

my vote is chris wolstenholme of muse. he has a good groove. his basslines show that he know his place in the band. he did a couple like 'hysteria' and 'butterflies & hurricanes' (featuring a bass-tapping intro) to prove he was a great player. he can do anything from a crazy shred bassline to a simple meoldy line.

so let's hear your nominees.

p.s.
don't vote for yourselves or friends from unsigned bands, just guys from big bands. also someone who came about in recent years. anyway, i'm looking forward to the feedback.

I was gonna say Chris too before I loaded the thread. One of the best bassists out there today, his lines are always awesome and I love his tone.

How new does new have to be to be new enough?

Robert DeLeo IMO, he plays in a new rock band (Army of Anyone), although I'm a fan of his work in STP.

Err... he's like 40 now :P
Remember Tool release an album every 5 years, heh.

Yeah, I was going to say Chris too. He's just a beast of a player with an excellent head and tone. I loves him

Justin Chancellor, aka the second coming of Christ.
Just look at him. And then look at a drawing of Jesus.

It's not a coincidence!

I suppose Justin Chancellor, but he's hardly new. For that, I might as well say Billy Sheehan or Geddy Lee!

Well, the title "best anything" is kind of meaningless, but my favorite today has to be Ryan Martinie, but Chris is pretty cool too.

I consider anything 90s or newer relatively new... If we extended that back about 20 years I would say Geddy.

Yeah I guess Justin Chancellor is pretty old. Kind of sad that is the best I can think of. How about the guy from Alien Ant Farm? Although I don't think they put an album out after the singer was injured/sick (?).

That man from AAF, Tye Zamorra, is a beast. But hes not with the band anymore. The only orig. members are the drummer and singer now.

I hate the new album and they have been around for more than 10 years I'm talking about AFI and their bass player hunter, , the guy can really play ( check out sacrifice theory) and has a great tone .

Totally agree with Chris W, My favorite bassist!
Love his basslines!

What about Tim Commerford of Audioslave/RATM!
Most of his lines ares pretty intersting due to the style they use!
