Someone was saying something about David Hood and Roger Hawkins so I wanted to know who your guys' favorite Sessionplayers and session rhythm sections. also name a few good albums that those people are featured on so I (and all of us) could maybe hear a bit more of them.

Willie Weeks & andy Newark - Young AMerican's by David Bowie
that is a great rhythm section and a great album

I also hear that Hood & HAwkins are great but i have never really heard to much of them.
Of Course Jamerson and teh drummer from the Funk Brothers
JAmes Brown always had great rhythm sections too

I agree 100%.
...plus Rainey & Porcaro on Katy Lied's "Your Gold Teeth II" & some of Rickie Lee Jones' stuff.

Which segues into David Hungate & Jeff Porcaro.

No, you'll have to share it!
I did stumble across some CMT show where the rhythm section was talking about this track(so I'm assuming it was Hood & not Jemmott).
A very young & unknown Duane Allman was also a sessioneer on this album.

Absolutely right.

"Ready" Freddie Washington and Keith Carlock are none too shabby on the "Morph" album either.

Also, Randy Hope-Taylor and/or Julian Crampton with Richard Bailey on numerous Incognito albums.

JimK:

Agreed and, yes, it IS the same Richard Bailey. In fact, he and Hope-Taylor were the Jeff Beck rhythm section for a tour a while ago. I would like to have seen that.

Randy also played guitar on that tour.

No I didn't. He mentioned it in an interview. I think he said that he was playing a seafoam green Strat.

Michael Rhodes has been turning up a lot lately.
I like his sound. Nashville, does a lot of country, but he gets around.
Larry Carlton's Sapphier Blue is a good example
There is an interview at http://www.puremusic.com/rhodes2.html

I also enjoy Viktor Krauss, anouther Nashville session man, though I think he's exclusively URB. He's done great work with Bill Frisell. He's Allison Krauss' brother. Just released a CD of his own this year.
