FINGERSTYLE bassists in rock, punk, altern etc

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys!

I'd like you to mention fingerstyle bassists who play a four string basses in genres like rock, punk, alternative, heavy metal (metallica-atreyu-like metal, not death-black-screamin' metal) hard rock, glam metal etc

Because I just think that its sadly rare to see a bassist play fingerstyle on a 4 string bass nowadays. The pick took control on bassists in about 80% of 'em. I know pick is cool and i like its sound and speed, but once in a while i'd love to listen/watch some bands with bassplayers using fingerstyle.

And i know bassists like Flea, Steve Harris, Matt Riddle, Truillo. I know they play fingerstyle on a 4 strings.

I apologize for my english - if there are some mistakes please forgive me (Im from Poland - middle Europe).

Peace you bassmastas!

Protest the Hero, Rush, Mars Volta.

All of their bassists play with fingers (Juan from TMV plays with a pick some of the time).

brian robinson from a wilhelm scream plays with his fingers. hes a 4 stringer as well. 5 strings dont work so well in punk bands. hes nothing short of incredible. especially live, while filling in ALL the backing vocals.

Matt Rubano of Taking Back Sunday plays fingerstyle (and he has a lot of creative lines on Where You Want To Be, Louder Now was just a letdown in just about every way)

Karl Alvarez of ALL / Descendents plays fingerstyle and he is good.
Also Mike (Dean?) of Corrosion of Conformity and Mike Watt. The bassplayer of coheed and cambria too.

I am not this much into Metal, so no more for the moment...

Les Claypool - Primus of course they're kind of they're own genre.
Shavo Odadjian - System of a Down
John Moyer - Disturbed
