Hello there Connor!
I had my last lesson with my teacher yesterday. Here are a few tips that I think are helpful:
-On the first day, your teacher should evaluate your skills.
-They should ask what your personal goals are so that they could help you get the most out of the lessons.
-The teacher should be someone that you're comfortable with, but at the same time a person who is focused, keeps you engaged and interested.
- No teacher should be condescending to their students, and should never try to stifle their students' approach to music.
If the teacher is like this, do not continue with this teacher.
-The teacher should be honest about your progress. That's how you learn.
I hope this helps!
