Flea's house burnt to a crisp

Damn!

MALIBU, Calif. (Nov. 24) - A fast-moving wildfire pushed by Santa Ana winds raced through the canyons and mountains of this wealthy enclave for the second time in little more than a month Saturday.

The blaze destroyed more than 30 homes and forced as many as 14,000 residents to flee. Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Flea, aka Michael Balzary, said in a text message that his house "had burnt to a crisp," the Los Angeles Times reported.

The fire erupted shortly before 3:30 a.m. after the long-predicted Santa Anas finally returned, and it quickly grew before the winds died down. By midafternoon it was estimated at 4,500 acres, or about 7 square miles, with 25 percent containment.

Fifteen helicopters and 15 airplanes, including a retardant-dropping DC-10 jumbo jet, attacked from the air while 1,700 firefighters battled flames on the ground. One firefighter suffered an unspecified moderate injury, and five others suffered minor injuries.

"It's great to be able to say that we have no loss of lives," Jennings said.

Helicopters lowered hoses into pools and the nearby Pacific to refill their tanks for water-dropping runs, and SuperScooper amphibious airplanes skimmed the ocean to reload.

Hundreds of firefighters and equipment from throughout the state had been positioned in Southern California for most of the week because of the predicted winds, which had been expected to blow most of the week but didn't arrive until late Friday.

I hope Flea reads this thread then. It'll make him happy that his house DIDN'T actually burn down as the news reported. The news. Oh boy.

Too bad for all the others.

The link says that a house he owns had burnt to a crisp... Not his home, but a property that he owned...

Word. The record, produced by Billy Dickens, will be called "Do Midgets Like Waffle Houses?". Flea will drop in trumpet lines and "mad beatz".

It was Flea's "old house".

JAUQO clears up a error by the media, and people give him a hard time about it, what's that all about?

I think I sense a bit of jealosy, here...After all...not everyone on TB gets to record with Bernard Purdy...

But that's ok, Lackacrack, I'm jealous, too (just not dirty about it)

If I were flea I would grab my kids and tell each of them to grab on of my 64 fender jazz basses (I think he has a couple, right?) and then I would run like hell screaming at the wife and dog to high tail it just a bit quicker...
