Me and my friends-freaky stylie
And I don't care how much of a poser answer it is, Higher ground is pretty damned funky
OHM pre commercial RHCP! LOL! That was a good one!

If you want some straight up slappin', slidin' booty from a white guy, that's the track. One of the band's funkiest overall is Walkabout from that same album. I think One Hot Minute is one of the most underrated albums of its time.
Another favorite (not the funkiest, though) is My Lovely Man from BSSM. He and Chad stick together like glue through that entire song and just drive it home. One of the Peppers' finest. If you don't have that album, get it. Now. THE rock album of the 90's.

I didn't think navarro was a great fit, but that album has a bunch of gems. I may be in a minority among the super duper obsessed RHCP fans, but its a damn good album. SO is their real initial commercial album, argueably BSSM. That album is one of those albums that gets aband popular becasue its good enough to do it.
Oh yeah, that just reminded me big +1 on walkabout

I know that doesn't answer the question directly, but as a band I thought they were so locked in, that the entire album start to finish should be looked at as one piece of work with different moods and textures.

Sikamikanico, and I dont think that's really that funky. Awesome, for sure, but not really funky. Quote:

my say would go to Yertle the Turtle.
or really if you want me to stay, but stealing one from Sly Stone doesn't really count.

Yeah, my bad. I am known for being a guy who does that. I hope that is the worst thing that happens to him all week though, as that would qualify as a pretty decent week. It is fairly common that when one reads something they don't always hear it in the voice of the writer. But now his honor is restored and I am vanquished.

I pulled up every song mentioned in this thread, and Bust a Move is really the only one that doesn't sound like a total ClusterF.
